Privacy Policy
FizPDF is built to read and edit your documents entirely on your Mac. We designed it so that your files never need to leave your computer — and the app reflects that. This policy explains, in plain language, what we do and don't collect.
1. Who we are
FizPDF is published by Fizteq Solutions SRL (VAT RO37187316), Cpt. Nicolae Licăreț 6, bl. PM43, sc. A, ap. 23, București, România. For anything in this policy, we are the data controller, and you can reach us at contact@fizteq.com.
2. What we collect
Your documents — never. FizPDF opens, edits, merges, stamps, and signs PDFs locally on your Mac. The contents of your files, the pages you view, the stamps you place, and the signatures you add are never transmitted to us or to any third party.
No analytics or telemetry in the app. The FizPDF app contains no usage tracking, behavioral analytics, advertising identifiers, or crash reporting that phones home to us automatically. (This website uses optional, consent-based analytics — see section 5.)
No account. FizPDF does not require you to sign up, log in, or provide an email address to use any feature. We hold no personal data about you on our side.
3. Information handled by Apple
If you download FizPDF from the Mac App Store, Apple processes the download and may share aggregate, anonymized statistics with us — for example, total download counts, or the crash and usage diagnostics you have chosen to share with developers in macOS. This information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy, reaches us only in aggregate, and never identifies you individually.
4. Network activity
FizPDF works fully offline. It contacts the network in only one situation, and only when you ask it to:
- Signature validation. When you inspect a document's digital signatures, verifying a certificate may require checking its revocation status with the issuing authority. This is performed on-device by standard macOS security services, and the request goes to that authority — never to us. Your document's contents are not sent anywhere.
App updates are delivered through the Mac App Store and handled by macOS; FizPDF has no separate update mechanism that contacts our servers.
5. Analytics on this website
This website (fizpdf.fizteq.com) uses Matomo, a privacy-friendly analytics tool we host ourselves, to understand which pages are useful. It runs only if you accept via the cookie banner, anonymizes your IP address, and the data stays on our server — it is never shared with or sent to any third party. You can accept, decline, or change your choice at any time. Full details are in our Cookie Policy.
6. Information stored on your Mac
To make the app pleasant to use, FizPDF saves some information locally in your user Library — for example your list of recently opened files, window and zoom preferences, trusted signing certificates you've added, and any stamps or signatures you've saved. This data lives only on your Mac, is never uploaded, and is removed when you delete the app and its support files.
7. Your rights
Aside from the website analytics you've explicitly consented to (which you can withdraw at any time via the Cookie Policy), we don't collect or store personal data about you. If you'd like any analytics data linked to your visits anonymized or removed, or you have any other privacy question, write to contact@fizteq.com and we'll handle it. If you are in the EU/EEA and have a concern we can't resolve, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority — in Romania, the ANSPDCP.
8. Children's privacy
FizPDF is a general-purpose productivity tool and is not directed at children. Because we don't collect personal information, we don't knowingly collect anything from anyone, including children.
9. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app handles data, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
